How the showroom works
Fair turns for every post, local posts first, and views counted honestly.
Who appears first
The order is worked out again every minute, so it keeps moving.
Everyone takes turns
Every post pays the same, so every live post gets an equal turn at the front of the showroom. The posts that have been seen least this week go next.
New posts get a head start
For its first 72 hours, a new post is moved forward so people see it while it is fresh.
Local first, never local only
Visitors see posts from their own province first, mixed with posts from the rest of South Africa, so a post in a small province still reaches the big cities.
A small nudge for video
The showroom is built for video, so a post with a video gets a small boost within its turn. It never jumps the queue.
How we know your province
We estimate it from your internet connection, and you can always change it.
Your connection usually tells us your province, but mobile networks and VPNs can get it wrong. Use the Change button at the top of any showroom to pick another province or all of South Africa. We remember your choice on this device only.

How views are counted
Every page that shows your post counts: the showrooms, home page rows, lists, your post's page and the full-screen viewer.
A video view
The video played for 2 seconds in a row with at least half of it on screen. This is the international standard for video advertising, and close to how TikTok, Instagram and Facebook count.
A page view
Someone opened your post's own page. Opening the page and watching its video within 30 minutes counts once.
What does not count
Your own views, VerifyMzansi staff, search engine robots, and the same person again within 30 minutes. Very high numbers from one network are capped, so nobody can inflate a count.
Your dashboard also shows engaged views: people who watched for 30 seconds, or 90% of a shorter video. A showroom appearance counts when your post sat at the front of the showroom for a full second while the showroom was on screen.
